Your child is anxious. And somehow, you’re the one holding it together

You've started planning your whole day around what might set them off. You answer the same reassuring questions on loop. You've left events early, skipped things entirely, slept in their bed, and quietly rearranged your life — all to keep the peace.

But it's not working. If anything, the anxiety seems to be running the house more than ever.

You don't need to keep managing it alone. And your child doesn't need to come to therapy.

There's a reason nothing has worked — and it's not you.

When your child is anxious, the most natural thing in the world is to help them feel better. So, you reassure. You accommodate. You tip-toe around situations that feel too hard for them.

The problem is that anxiety is designed to grow when it's accommodated (even lovingly).

This is not a parenting failure. It's a pattern. And these patterns can change.

SPACE is a treatment developed at the Yale Child Study Center that works by supporting you — the parent — to gradually shift those patterns, without power struggles, and without requiring your child to attend therapy.

Most parents start to see a difference within a few sessions. Over time, your child builds real tolerance for anxiety, and home life gets quieter. Not because you forced anything, but because you changed how you responded, with a clear and supported plan.

Who This Is For

You might be in the right place if:

  • Your child's anxiety is affecting the whole family's daily life

  • You've tried talking them through it, but the reassurance never seems to be enough

  • Your child refuses therapy, or has tried it without much change

  • You're exhausted from being the anxiety manager and you're ready for a different approach

SPACE works with children ages 4–18 and is available in-person in Jersey City, NJ or virtually across NJ, NY, and FL.

Not sure if this is right for your family?

That's exactly what the free consultation is for. You don't need to come in knowing whether SPACE is the answer. We'll talk about what's been going on, and I'll give you an honest read on whether SPACE, child/teen therapy, or parenting therapy is the right fit. You'll leave with clarity either way.

Parents Often Ask…

Does my child have to attend?

No. SPACE is a parent-based approach. Sessions are designed for parents only. During the initial assessment, I may ask to meet with your child for one session, but ongoing sessions are with parents.

How long does it take?

Most parents participate in 8-12 sessions over the course of a few months. The exact timeline depends on your child’s needs and the pace you feel comfortable with making changes.

Does it work virtually?

Yes. SPACE is highly effective both online and in-person.

What if SPACE is not the right fit?

The free consultation is an opportunity to talk through what’s been going on and determine whether SPACE matches your family’s needs. I may also recommend a one-time assessment session with your child to ensure we’re targeting the right concerns. Regardless, you’ll leave with clear recommendations about how to best support your child and your family.

How much does it cost?

SPACE sessions are 60-minutes in length and cost $220 per session. I am private pay and do not accept insurance, but I can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance if you have out-of-network benefits.

Hi, I’m Stephanie.

As a licensed therapist, a mom, and someone who has worked with children and families for over 16 years. I know how much you love your kid. I also know how depleting it is when every day revolves around their anxiety.

What I've seen again and again in my work is that parents aren't the problem, but they are the solution. SPACE works because you are already the most important person in your child's life. We just need to shift how you're showing up in those hard moments.

This isn't about being a perfect parent. It never was. It's about being a consistent, supported, and confident one and that's exactly what we'll work toward together.

You don’t have to keep managing anxiety alone

If you’re feeling stuck, exhausted, or unsure what to do next, SPACE can offer a clear path forward without blame or pressure.
